Menangle
A village with a long memory.
Menangle is one of the area’s older villages, with rural history running back through the Camden Park estate and the railway bridge built across the Nepean in the 1860s. Families here often hold photographs of relatives, farms and village life that exist nowhere else.
Older prints like these usually need gentle work: cracks in the emulsion mended, stains and foxing lifted, faded detail recovered and missing corners rebuilt where enough of the image remains. We keep the photograph’s age and character intact, so it still looks like a photograph from its own time rather than a modern copy.
