When Nana, Pa, both their daughters' families and all the grandkids land in one place — we make sure the photos actually happen, calmly.
Extended Family sessions are built for the rare occasions when every immediate family is in the same place at the same time — milestone birthdays, family reunions, weddings, or visits home. We pace the session for big groups, coordinate wardrobe palettes that work across three generations, and capture both the formal whole-family portrait and the smaller pockets — grandparents with grandkids, siblings together, each immediate family on its own.

How a extended family session flows
- 01 Pre-session planning
We map out which sub-family combinations you want captured so nobody is missed on the day — grandkids with each set of grandparents, siblings together, each family unit.
- 02 Session day
Calm direction for the big group, short breaks for the kids, time for older relatives to sit between sets. We don't rush anyone.
- 03 Gallery reveal
Walk-through of your edited images within two weeks. Bring the whole family back in for the viewing if you want — popcorn included.

How many people are included in the session fee?
The $200 session fee covers seven or more guests. Bring everyone who wants to be in frame.
Can we capture sub-family portraits as well as the big group shot?
Yes — that's the whole point. We plan the session around the combinations you want: each immediate family on their own, grandparents with grandkids, siblings together, every cousin combination. Just tell us at booking who needs to be paired with whom.
Is the session studio or outdoor?
Studio at Glen Alpine or Gledswood Hills is most common — easier for elderly relatives and unbothered by weather. Outdoor at a Macarthur park is a $50 upgrade for golden-hour sessions.
What if some of the elderly relatives can't stand for long?
We pace the session with breaks built in. Grandparents sit between sets. Most poses have at least one seated option. Just let us know any mobility needs at booking.
How should everyone dress?
We send a styling guide pre-session with palette suggestions that work across every age group. The short version: pick two complementary palettes (e.g. cream + sage + denim), avoid logos, no one in pure white or black.
